Kamloops, BC: Tourism Kamloops is excited to announce that well-known TV personality and meteorologist Mark Madryga has been contracted by Tourism Kamloops to lead a new marketing campaign inviting British Columbia residents to visit Kamloops, let loose and just play.
Born and raised in Kamloops, Mark Madryga is a TV personality and senior meteorologist with Global TV who now resides in South Surrey with his family but still has a strong passion for the city. “With the ongoing successes of our Global TV promotions on the morning news, bringing Mark onboard officially was a natural move for us.” states Lee Morris, CEO. “We hit the ground running with his popularity and as Kamloops’ hometown boy, he was eager to become involved.”
Tourism Kamloops will incorporate Mark into expanded TV, print, direct mail and online advertising creative and occasional personal appearances. “I always look forward to visiting Kamloops with my family.” says Mark. “There is so much to see and do and I am proud to recommend it as a getaway and vacation destination.” As part of a ‘Tank of Gas Strategy’ (TOGS) started in late 2007, Tourism Kamloops continues to target family leisure vacation travel and weekend getaways proactively positioning Kamloops as an easy to get to, fun and affordable place to visit.
