2008 Kamloops Vacation Planner Hits the Streets

For Immediate Release: January 10, 2008

Kamloops, B.C., - Tourism Kamloops’ 2008 Vacation Planner has just arrived and distribution is well under way as another strong year for the Tourism Industry in the region is anticipated.

The new Vacation Planner continues to showcase the unique features and attractions that Kamloops and the region have to offer and for 2008, new images, increased event listings and an improved destination map are just a few of the changes. Tourism Kamloops’ award winning brand continues to guide the design and layout of the brochure and the majority of the 80,000 copies printed will be distributed throughout North America. Tourism BC stocks and distributes copies worldwide through their international offices and network of marketing alliances. In partnership with Thompson Rivers University, copies will also be sent around the world as families of students are invited to visit and share in the fun and adventure that can be experienced in Kamloops.

“The Vacation Planner is one of three publications we will have produced in 2008 and is the primary response to all visitor enquiries generated by our aggressive marketing campaigns.” states Ms. Lee Morris, CEO of Tourism Kamloops. “A competitive strength for our Tourism Industry is the wide variety of product we have to showcase in the brochure ranging from golf to heritage, arts, and culture to outdoor adventure.”

Designed as a lure brochure, potential visitors will be enticed to look for further information on the Tourism Kamloops website where product details and contact information for suppliers is available. New software will be used that allows visitors to view the brochure online and to download it if desired. Locally, copies of the brochure will be available at the Kamloops Visitor Centre, tourism attractions and at Kamloops Accommodation Association members’ hotels, motels, and inns.
