| Christmas Spirit at the Kamloops Symphony Tuesday, November 28th, 2006 |
Christmas spirit abounds when the Kamloops Symphony presents its annual Christmas with the KSO performances on Saturday, December 16 at 8 pm and Sunday, December 17 at 2 pm in Sagebrush Theatre. These performances provide a special opportunity for the KSO and guest artists from our community to bring you a seasonal programme that the whole family will enjoy.
You’ll hear The Kamloops Thompson Honour Choir and baritone soloist Alan Corbishley join the orchestra to perform Chris van Allsburg’s Polar Express (music by Robert Kapilow). Alan Corbishley also performs in the role of narrator for A Christmas Pastorale. Soprano Maria Harman earned her appearance with the KSO when she won the Kamloops Symphony Award in the 2006 Kamloops Festival of the Performing Arts. Her solo work is Exsultate, Jubilate by Mozart. There’s more Christmas music by the orchestra and children’s choir, then it all wraps up with the orchestra playing Christmas Carols with the largest choir in Kamloops – the KSO audience. This year’s Christmas with the KSO also marks the 30th anniversary of the Kamloops Symphony. The first performance took place on December 4, 1976. |
