| Positive New Study Released on the Kamloops Visitor Info Centre Thursday, April 13th, 2006 |
| Kamlooops, B.C.: Recently released results are in from a survey conducted in 2005 on the value of the impact of the Visitor Information Centre (VIC) on traveler behaviour and the economic impact of the VIC.
“The results are in, and we’re very pleased with the high praise the Kamloops VIC is receiving from travelers.” said Tourism Kamloops CEO Lee Morris. “Of the recently released study, it is revealed that 99% of visitors to the Kamloops VIC stated the Info Centre met or exceeded their expectations. Nearly half of travelers at the Kamloops VIC were very flexible in the activities that they planned to participate in while in the area.” “In Kamloops, we get to daily experience the great outdoor environment of our region, so it was no surprise to us that the natural beauty/scenery, weather and friendly people were the three most frequently cited positive images travelers had of their visit to the Kamloops region.” said Ms. Morris. “And the economic impact is one of the most important factors to us, and Kamloops VIC users spent over $2.3 million in the Kamloops region and another $10.6 million while travelling through B.C.” “The Kamloops VIC truly does an excellent job promoting our region to our visitors.” compliments Ms. Morris. The Kamloops VIC is managed by the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce. For more information, please contact Ms. Lee Morris, CEO, at (250) 372-8000 or lee@tourismkamloops.com. |
