| Kamloops is home to the 120-acre British Columbia Wildlife Park, a place for a great family day of wildlife viewing. There are wonderful photo opportunities of 70 local and endangered species, including grizzly bears, timber wolves, cougars, moose, mountain goat, snakes, and birds of prey. British Columbia has more species diversity than any other province in Canada, and this rich wildlife heritage underlies the fun experience and educational messages at the Wildlife Park. Children and their parents enjoy the Wildlife Express miniature train, Zippity Zoo Zone playground, Splash Park and Cactus Corral Children's Area and Family Farm. The 7,000 sq.ft. air conditioned Visitors Centre includes the Timber Wolf Gift Shop and Grasslands Café.
The Park hosts nature exhibits, children's camps and special events. Their purpose is to encourage the appreciation of and respect for British Columbia’s wildlife and to assist in preserving biodiversity through education, research, captive breeding and rehabilitation service Check out their website for a complete list of summer activities and the Wildlights Christmas Festival. They are open every day of the year (except Christmas Day), from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours until 8:30 p.m. in July & August.
