Kamloops, B.C.; The Tourism Kamloops ‘Double Dog Dare’ campaign wrapped up on June 30, 2010, and the voters had chosen three challenges for Kamloops’ Home Town Boy, Mark Madryga, to take on this summer including driving a race car, a road hockey challenge versus NHL Stars and a walk on role in Project X Theatre Production’s ‘Rocky Horror Show’. Mark has completed the first two challenges and is currently practicing his ‘Time Warp Dance’ steps to be debuted this Saturday night!

“We’re excited to welcome Mark back again this weekend to Kamloops,” says Tourism Kamloops CEO Ms. Lee Morris. “He enjoyed the race car driving and the road hockey, and from what I understand, is nervously excited about his walk on role in the Rocky Horror Show with Project X Theatre Productions this Saturday night at Prince Charles Park.”

In fact, back at the Global BC Morning News desk, Mark and his upcoming role in the show have been quite the talk with the news Anchors Steve Darling and Lynn Collier, who have been subjecting him to training videos on the ‘Time Warp Dance’.

“All of this extra coverage to our key target markets throughout British Columbia is in part what we were hoping to achieve with this campaign,” says Ms. Morris. “The more that people are exposed to what a fun and exciting place Kamloops is to let loose and just play, the better chance we have in being on their radar for a getaway.”

In a press release issued just yesterday from Tourism Kamloops, the overall accommodation revenues for the first 5 months of 2010 show positive increases, showing that Kamloops continues to be well positioned as a ‘staycation’ destination for the province of B.C.
