| It’s Nearly Here!!
It’s hard to believe, but it’s almost here – the Interior’s most-anticipated summer theatre festival is less than a month away... do you have your tickets??
Beginning July 23, Project X Theatre Productions is thrilled to be back for another summer of theatre in the great outdoors. Now in its fourth season, X Fest is the Interior of BC’s only outdoor summer Shakespeare festival. Featuring the work of the Bard, William Shakespeare, paired with a second piece (either contemporary or written by one of Shakespeare’s contemporaries), the festival this year boasts strong options for both comedic and dramatic theatre-goers.
While Project X has focussed solely on Shakespeare’s comedies to date, X Fest 2009 goes to the other extreme, featuring one of English languages’ most powerful and impactful tragedies, Hamlet: Prince of Denmark. But there will be laughs as well – with Tom Stoppard’s hilarious absurd comedy, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, expect to be confused and bewildered, then sit up and laugh right out loud!
With a new venue design and an incredible team of emerging and career performers, X Fest 2009 promises to be the one you won’t soon forget!
X Fest 2009, featuring Hamlet: Prince of Denmark and Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead will run nightly (except Sundays) July 23 to August 8, at Prince Charles Park, 1100 Columbia Street. Please Note: Show times are 7:30pm. And don’t forget Picnic in the Park – featuring a delicious picnic meal from Hot House Bistro in Prince Charles Park, a beverage, dessert and your ticket to the show all for just $35!
