ROUTE 5 - THOMPSON SHUSWAP EXPEDITION
Kamloops - Westwold - Armstrong - Salmon Arm - Pritchard - Kamloops
Total Distance: 270 kms (167 miles)
Total Time: 3 hours 30 minutes
1. Kamloops - Spallumcheen
Distance: 115 kms (72 miles)
Approximate Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
Route: Highway 1 - exit onto Highway 97
Origin/Destination: Head east from Kamloops on Highway 1 for approximately 25 kms. Keep in the right lane and take exit 399 to Highway 97 towards Kelowna. Follow Highway 97 until it splits and choose to travel towards Salmon Arm. Turn left and head north onto Highway 97A. Spallmacheen is approximately 8 kms after the turn off. (Riders may not know they are passing through Spallmacheen because it is mostly farmland acreage and has no downtown core).

2. Spallumcheen/Armstrong - Salmon Arm
Distance: 45 kms (28 miles)
Approximate Time: 39 minutes
Route: Highway 97A - Highway 97B
Origin/Destination: Continue heading north along Highway 97A towards Enderby. Once in Enderby continue on Highway 97A. About 5 kms (3.5 miles) outside of Enderby, the highway will split and you will turn left onto Highway 97B towards Salmon Arm. Once you hit the outskirts of Salmon Arm, you will meet up with Highway 1. Follow the signs for Kamloops and turn left onto Highway 1.

3. Salmon Arm - Pritchard
Distance: 71 kms (43 miles)
Approximate Time: 45 minutes
Route: Highway 1
Origin/Destination: Head west out of Salmon Arm on Highway 1
Highlights: Shuswap Lake
4. Pritchard - Kamloops
Distance: 42 kms (25.5 miles)
Approximate Time: 35 mins
Route: Highway 1 - Shuswap Road
Origin/Destination: You will arriving in Pritchard via Highway 1. If you turn right off the highway onto Pinantan Road and head over the bridge taking you to the north Side of the river. Follow Pinantan Road up the hill until it meets Shuswap Road. Turn left onto Shuswap Road. Follow Shuswap Road all the way to Kamloops.
