Three floors of permanent and traveling exhibits make this museum one of the best historic attractions in Kamloops. Join a group for a guided tour or explore solo:

Location

The Kamloops Museum and Archives is located in downtown Kamloops at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Seymour Street in the bright gold building.

 

Open Year Round
Tuesday - Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Open late on Thursdays until 7:30 p.m. (May - October)
Closed on Statutory Holidays

 

Admission is by recommended donation
$3.00 - adults, $1.00 - 18 and under.

The Children's Museum, located on the first floor of the Kamloops Museum & Archives and includes interactive displays:

The Children's Museum closes 30 minutes before the rest of the Museum.

Hands On/Get Along PreSchool Program ($110)

This recreation programs focuses on playing games, singing songs, and making crafts. Four and five year olds are in an environment that encourages physical and social interaction specific for this age group. The program supports the development of literacy and numeracy skills. Ages 4-5

Spring Break at the Museum ($175)

Be a fur trader, explorer, geologist, and curator during Spring Break! Dig up an artifact, create a death mask, and unearth some cool minerals. Learn about local history, play some games, and join us for some unique activities including a field trip. There will also be some pretty cool guests joining us! Meet all of the Museum staff, go behind the scenes, and make some new friends. This is a week-long camp and you must register for all 5 days. Ages 9-12

"Red Lights and Black Hearts" Walking Tour with the Museum

Air Kamloops' dirty laundry! Join the Kamloops Museum for a walking tour of the downtown area and explore the 'darker side' of Kamloops. Learn all about houses of ill repute, opium dens, and notorious Kamloops icons. Discover the fascinating history of Kamloops' brothels, 'women of the night', and the Kamloops Gaol.
